TOHKN Just Went Live in El Salvador — And the Investment Story Here Just Got Bigger

Last night we were at the official launch of TOHKN, and it was one of those events where you leave knowing you just watched something shift.

Live DJ. A packed room. The co-founders on stage walking through what they’ve actually built. And a message that kept coming back in different forms all night: this kind of platform changes what’s possible for regular people who want in on real investment opportunities.

So What Is TOHKN?

TOHKN is a Salvadoran investment platform built on tokenization — the same regulatory framework that has made El Salvador a global reference point for digital assets. Behind it are Julio Valdés (CEO), Felipe Nuila (CTO), and Alejandro Argumedo (Chief Growth Officer), the team that also built MIO3, Latin America’s first real-asset tokenization platform. Their pitch is simple: open up investing — real estate, startups, corporate bonds, U.S. stocks — to anyone in the region, not just institutions and qualified investors.

The News From Last Night

The launch we attended announced TOHKN US Public Markets: tokenized access to U.S. stocks, ETFs, and bonds, plus major cryptocurrencies, all from inside the app. The entry point is $10.

Ten dollars. That’s the whole idea. A door that used to be shut to most people in Latin America is now open from a phone, operating under CNAD (Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales) oversight and El Salvador’s Digital Asset Issuance Law.

Why This Matters Beyond the App

TOHKN is one more proof point in a story we keep telling: El Salvador is quietly building the financial infrastructure of a country that wants serious capital to show up.

Zero tax on foreign income. Zero capital gains tax on Bitcoin. A regulatory framework advanced enough that a homegrown startup can launch tokenized access to Wall Street from San Salvador. That’s not a coincidence — it’s a pattern. Safety, tax policy, and now financial innovation are all moving in the same direction at the same time.
