On the third anniversary of Bitcoin becoming legal in El Salvador, Bitcoiners from around the world gathered at Palo Verde in El Zonte, for a vibrant celebration hosted by Bitcoin Beach. The event was filled with excitement, bringing together Bitcoin enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Here are some of our favorite moments from this milestone event in Bitcoin Country.

1. Press Conference and First Panel

The event opened with a press conference featuring prominent figures like José Mauricio Pineda, Minister of Education; Eny Aguiñada, President of the Salvadoran Tourism Institute; Stacy Herbert, Director of the Bitcoin Office El Salvador; and Max Keiser, Senior Bitcoin Advisor to President Bukele. They discussed Bitcoin’s influence on sectors like education, tourism, and the economy, setting the stage for the celebration.

2. Second Panel: Industry Experts Discuss Bitcoin’s Growth

A second panel brought together industry leaders, including Will Hernández from ASOBITCOIN, Darvin Otero from Tiankii, our co-founder Lexi Cross, and others, to explore Bitcoin’s growing role in commerce, accessibility, and infrastructure in El Salvador. They also highlighted community-driven efforts and Bitcoin’s impact on real estate, education, and local businesses.

3. Toast to the Third Anniversary of Bitcoin Country

To mark the occasion, a toast was held in celebration of the third anniversary of Bitcoin being legal tender in El Salvador. It was a moment of reflection and pride, with attendees celebrating the country’s pioneering role in Bitcoin adoption.

4. Batucada: The Sound of Celebration

As the night continued, the crowd was treated to a lively Batucada performance, a traditional Brazilian drum parade. The rhythmic beats and energetic dancers brought a festive, vibrant feel to the evening. The Batucada was a perfect representation of the unifying spirit that Bitcoin has brought to El Salvador, infusing the celebration with energy and joy.
