A Recap of Adopting Bitcoin 2023, El Salvador
It was all-things-Bitcoin here in El Salvador this past week. From the third-annual Adopting Bitcoin Conference hosted by Blink, to the Bitcoin Festival in El Zonte, AKA Bitcoin Beach, here were some of our favorite moments.
1. Seeing new faces and visiting with familiar ones!

Our Goodlife El Salvador booth was set up and ready for attendees to stop by and chat about all things real estate. It was fun to mingle with those who popped in — about property ownership, residency and, of course, Bitcoin.
2. The speeches and panels at Adopting Bitcoin in San Salvador.

A great line up of panelists and thought leaders from around the world covered topics from Bitcoin adoption to circular economies to lightning technology and more. Below, our co-founder Roman Martinez and Bitcoin Beach Director, Mike Peterson, spoke about the impact Bitcoin has had on the community, particularly in the life of one young Salvadorean, Ismael, who recently spent four months working in the USA and decided to return back to his home country to lead the way and set an example for other young Salvadoreans.

3. An open house and panel, “All About Real Estate El Salvador” hosted at Casa Lety in El Zonte.

Back in El Zonte we hosted an open house and panel at one of our listings, Casa Lety. The panel invited leaders working in real estate — an architect, attorney and more — to discuss “All Things Real Estate in El Salvador.” The event was a great success, we hope to do more in the future. Thanks to all who made it.
4. The popular, Bitcoin Meat-Up at Palo Verde Hotel in El Zonte.

The annual “Meat-Up” in El Zonte! An intimate dinner at Palo Verde with limited capacity. No guest left hungry thanks to the personal portion of tomahawks. Another great one in the books!
5. The other Bitcoin Meet-up…we had a full house!

Bitcoin meet-up #1846489984772… but this one was packed!! Typically hosted once a month at Palo Verde, the meet-up is a chance for Bitcoiners to gather, network and enjoy great food. The Bitcoin Beach Festival addition was especially packed — in the best way. We even had the famous Giacomo in the house, who is always entertaining to listen to, and also exceptionally brilliant in his efforts to support Bitcoin education.
6. The annual swim competition, this year hosted by Swan Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin Festival continued into Saturday morning, kicking (literally) the day off with a swim competition. Don’t let the calm water fool you — the currents were a challenge! But our participants made it through. Another great experience to remember.
7. Pupusa eating contest — what a show.

It wouldn’t be a Bitcoin Festival in El Zonte if it weren’t for the pupusa eating contest. A fun way to honor the local cuisine and bring together community. This year… the record was 36 pupusas, thanks to a 72-year old man who… probably could have kept going!!
Thanks to everyone who came and supported the events. We had a blast! Until next year… peace, love, and BITCOIN!
